Hurry! You only have til the end of tomorrow, Saturday, July 31st to log your books and be invited to the Summer Reading Club parties! Elementary ages and teens have to log 6 books and children five and under have to log 20 books. If you still have books to log click here for teens, here for elementary and here for the little ones and you will be taken to the Reading Club webpage. Email invitations will be going out on Tuesday, August 3rd... So check your inboxes! Congratulations to all of you who finished and we hope to see you at the parties!!

After this feast - you might rather have a famine! Twelve brave souls faced the horrors of a Paul inspired feast. Starting off gently with onions, artichoke, and yuca, the feast progressed to include: garlic pickled tomato, spam w/ sauerkraut, green Jackfruit, beets, perserved kumquats, pepperfish, cat food, soy skin, sailfish meat creamed rice, eggplant, milkfish in tomato sauce, clam juice, baby food, squid, cracker with wasabee, Limburger cheese, Jalapeno peppers, marmite and a snake fish. Every contest held strong until the Limburger cheese took down five contestants in one shot. Then came the final round with the dreaded Durian fruit - illegal in some countries due to its raucous smell. CJ, Troy, Adam, Nicki, and Natalie held tough till the very end, but the audience voted and settled a tie between Troy and Adam. Adam won the $50 prize, but all our finalists got bragging rights!

We had about 70 kids attend our Smooth Sailing program, hosted by Miss Jessica, where we made several crafts and watched a towel folding demo. There is only one week left of summer reading and you need to have your six books logged by July 31st to be invited to the final party. On Wednesday, July 28th, be sure to join us for Waves of Jeopardy and for the tweens (grades 4-7) join us on Friday, July 30th for Lightning Thief Popcorn and Movie!

There are only two more weeks until the end of our 2010 Summer Reading Program. Don't forget to log at least six books by July 31st to be invited to the final party! Thanks to all who came out to our Pirates Ahoy! program hosted by Ms. Bea. We had tons of fun making eye patches, hats, parrots and treasure bags. Join us next week for Smooth Sailing on Wednesday, July 21st @ 2:00pm or if you are a little older (grades 4-7) join us on Friday, July 16th @ 2:00pm for Drum Waves.

We had over 30 kids and at least that many teddy bears attend our Teddy Bear Picnic to celebrate national Teddy Bear Picnic Day! We shared a story, had a snack and made several teddy bear themed crafts including a hat and a teddy bear shaped backpack.

As usual we had a large turnout for our elementary summer reading program. This week was Fun with Spongebob hosted by Ms. Lynn from the Hugh Embry branch. Be sure to join us next week on Wednesday, July 14th @ 2:00pm for Pirates Ahoy! Or join us on Friday, July 16th for Drum Waves (grades 4-7)!

We had quite a large turnout this month for our Family Night Out- Pool Party program. Eighteen kids and fifteen adults joined us for a story, a game of limbo and some cool pool party themed crafts. Join us next month on Tuesday, August 3rd @ 6:30pm for our all ages Family Night Out- 50's Sock Hop!

We had just over 100 kids attend our "Mysteries of the Deep" summer reading program. This is week three and we are still going strong. Join us next week on Wednesday, July 7th for "Fun with Spongebob" or join us on Friday, July 9th for "Waves of Jeopardy" (grades 4-7)! We know you are having fun attending the weekly programs but don't forget to report at least 6 books by July 31st so you can be invited to the final party!!
