Regency Park Library to Host Digital Bookmobile (Magic Bus) National Tour Event
The Regency Park Library, located at 9701 Little Road, will host a Digital Bookmobile Thursday, December 17 in the north parking lot from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This event invites the public to experience interactive demonstrations to learn how to download eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video! CLICK HERE for pictures and more info.
Developed inside a 74-foot, 18-wheel tractor-trailer, this nationally touring vehicle is equipped with broadband Internet connected PCs, high definition monitors, premium sound systems, and a variety of portable media players. Interactive computer stations invite visitors to search Pasco County Library System’s digital media collection, use supported mobile devices, and sample eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video. Patrons can take advantage of this download service 24/7 when they visit the library’s website: pascolibraries.org. They can browse the collection of best-selling, new releases, or classic titles, and check out a digital title with a valid library card. Digital files can be enjoyed on a computer or transferred to supported mobile devices. At the end of the lending period, titles will automatically expire and are returned to the digital collection; there are never any late fees or damaged items!
The Digital Bookmobile is a service of the Pasco County Library System and is operated by OverDrive, Inc., a leading full-service digital distributor of eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video.

Ask a Librarian (AaL), Florida's free online reference service, can help you get answers and research for school assignments or other projects from the comfort of your own home or a library computer. You can even use the service after most libraries are closed, as they have night hours. Live librarians are available any time AaL is operating and the service is open for use by people of all ages. Want to win two tickets to this year's WWE SummerSlam event on August 23rd in L.A.? All you have to do is be one of the first 25 teens/tweens (ages 10-18) to check out two books at any of the Pasco County libraries and you could win. Posters featuring Rey Mysterio, Evan Bourne, Beth Phoenix, and Eve will be given out to everyone who checks out 2+ books until each library runs out. Only one poster per person, regardless of the number of times you check out books.
So, how does this poster help you win? Well, there is a number on the bottom right corner of every poster. On Friday, July 17th, two poster numbers will be drawn determining the grand prize winners along with alternate poster numbers, all of which will be posted on WWEKids.com. The two grand prize winners will win airfare to Los Angeles for two, two nights’ hotel, two tickets and $200 spending money for WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Sunday, August 23, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Ten first prize winners will win copies of the WWE Encyclopedia. See the official rules online (PDF) for complete info.
Seem easy enough? Just come in ASAP and check out 2 or more books to make sure you are one of the first 25 people to enter. You won't see much better odds of winning a prize like this!

"We the People" Adult Reading Program - December 1st - February 28th
Posted by Pasco County Library System
Do you love to read? Would you like something fun to do over the winter? Have you always wanted to join a reading club? Then you'll love our adult reading program, We the People...Created Equal.
How does the program work? It's really simple!
1. The club will run from December 1st, 2008 through February 28th, 2009.
2. Read any book or listen to any audio book. Read as many books as you want.
3. Sign up for the reading club. Report the books you read and record the title, author, and a short review of the book. This can be done either at the library or through the library's webpage at www.pascolibraries.org.
4. You will receive 1 point for every book you read, but, better yet, you will get 2 points for every book you read from a set list of titles and authors celebrating "We the People" of the United States. Ask the reference desk for a copy of the reading list. 5 points will get you a Pasco County Library System coffee mug!
5. There will be two random prize drawings at the end of each month for December, January and February. You must have a minimum of 5 points to qualify. At the end of the program, there will be a grand prize for the person who reads the most books. There will be two winners, one for the east side of the county and one for the west side.
So get reading and enjoy a hot beverage on a cool day in a PCLS mug!
