Not-so-fine dining at the Land O'Lakes Teen See - Food! Fear Factor

After this feast - you might rather have a famine!  Twelve brave souls faced the horrors of a Paul inspired feast.  Starting off gently with onions, artichoke, and yuca, the feast progressed to include: garlic pickled tomato, spam w/ sauerkraut, green Jackfruit, beets, perserved kumquats, pepperfish, cat food, soy skin, sailfish meat creamed rice, eggplant, milkfish in tomato sauce, clam juice, baby food, squid, cracker with wasabee, Limburger cheese, Jalapeno peppers, marmite and a snake fish.  Every contest held strong until the Limburger cheese took down five contestants in one shot.  Then came the final round with the dreaded Durian fruit - illegal in some countries due to its raucous smell.  CJ, Troy, Adam, Nicki, and Natalie held tough till the very end, but the audience voted and settled a tie between Troy and Adam.  Adam won the $50 prize, but all our finalists got bragging rights!

Saturday, September 12th, 2:00pm - Teens Draw Like Dali Art Class

Join us on Saturday, September 12th from 2:00-4:00pm when we'll discuss famous artist Salvador Dali and teach you how to "Draw Like Dali."

Ever seen the world of Salvador Dali? He was famous for his bizarre (insane?) paintings of surrealist landscapes covered in melting clocks and strange animals. Some say he was a genius…some say he was mad. Decide for yourself while you create art based on his unique style. Your work will be displayed in the library following the event for all to admire (if you want, anyway.) Check out some of his works on Google Images. Supplies and lessons will be provided free of charge, along with snacks and drinks

Teens only.

Tuesday, September 8th, 6:00pm - TAB Meeting

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) helps the library determine all the great programs it should put on for the 11-18 crowd. TAB members earn community service hours just by attending meetings and offering their thoughts and opinions. Plus, members get to be the first to know about all the other volunteer opportunities available in the library. Free snacks and drinks are always served at meetings, so come hungry and be ready to have your voice heard! TAB meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month and we always have a full house.

This coming Tuesday is our first meeting with our new officers in place. We will be going over the Winter programs that you voted on and talking about fundraising and other volunteer projects for the Fall. Don't miss this if you want to lay claim to some service hours over the next couple of months.
