Tuesday, September 8th, 6:00pm - TAB Meeting

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) helps the library determine all the great programs it should put on for the 11-18 crowd. TAB members earn community service hours just by attending meetings and offering their thoughts and opinions. Plus, members get to be the first to know about all the other volunteer opportunities available in the library. Free snacks and drinks are always served at meetings, so come hungry and be ready to have your voice heard! TAB meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month and we always have a full house.

This coming Tuesday is our first meeting with our new officers in place. We will be going over the Winter programs that you voted on and talking about fundraising and other volunteer projects for the Fall. Don't miss this if you want to lay claim to some service hours over the next couple of months.

Much like the TV show of the same name, we will be hosting a competition in song lyrics and karaoke in honor of our "Express Yourself" theme for the Summer Reading Club for teens.

Test your skills in songs from all genres of music as you try to remember the last line in the lyrics. Contestants will be scored on their prowess, with the winner taking home a $50 Best Buy gift card. Even if you don't want to compete, you can still come and watch the fun and devour the free food.

The Land O' Lakes Library is THE place to be for all things not prom. You don't need a date, you don't need a fancy dress or tux, and you don't have to spend a ton of money. We'll be decorating with spoofs of prom decor, spiking the punch with Monster, and dancing to a DJ who will be spinning his own remixes plus your requests. We'll also be smashing a disco ball pinata and crowning a reverse king and queen.

Best of all, it's free! How cool is that?
