The summer's heating up with our fourth SRC program for Tween readers!
Join us on Wednesday, July 1st at 2:00pm for the second session of our three-part workshop "Make Your Own Manga - Part 2."
This week we'll be expanding on the Graphic Novels you started last week. You're almost there as you work towards completing your own Graphic Novel!

Our Summer Reading Club is heating up with our next event for Teens. Join us for Giant Mad Libs & Anime Voiceovers. Come up with your most creative words and laugh as they are placed into our giant-format Mad Libs. Afterwards, you will have the chance to use our voiceover machine to put your own dubs onto anime movies, with potentially hilarious results.
Tuesday, June 30th from 6:00-8:00pm.
Free snacks and drinks provided.

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS
We're cruising along with the Summer Reading Club with our third program
for Tween readers!
Join us on Wednesday, June 24th at 2:00pm for the first session of our three-part workshop "Make Your Own Manga - Part 1."
Over the next three weeks, we'll show you how to create your own Graphic Novel. From conception, to drawings, inkings, adding dialogue and finally binding, your finished product will be an 8-12 page Graphic Novel that YOU created!
For Tweens ages 9-12 only.

Are you REALLY into anime and manga? How about cosplay? Well here's your chance to get your fill! Join us for our first Library Anime & Manga Enthusiasts (LAME) free two-day convention at the Hudson Library!
The convention will be held on June 12th from 6:00-10:00pm and June 13th from 10:00am-5:00pm at the Hudson Library.
We'll have vendors selling all the latest, hottest anime and manga merchandise straight from Japan. We'll also have a trading card tournament, panels, artists on display and so much more!
On June 12th we'll have a Costume Contest. Wear your best anime/manga outfit and strike a pose for the judges. On June 13th we'll have a Cosplay Contest. Here's your chance to strut your stuff and act out as your favorite character. You won't want to miss this one!
No registration is required and it's FREE, so just come on by!

Are you always drawing and doodling in your notebook? Do you like to make stuff out of clay? Or scrap metal? Then we have the event for you! Show off your talents at our Teen Art Contest.
We'll have three categories and you can enter a total of five exhibits:
"2D" which is any artwork, drawing, or painting.
"3D" which is sculpture, pottery or objects of art.
AND an "Anime/Manga" art category.
Prizes will be awarded for the winner of each category and there is no cost to enter.
You can submit your artwork any time beginning March 2nd and then join us on Tuesday, March 17th at 6:00pm where all pieces will be displayed for judging by local artists and library staff. Don't forget to put your name and number on each piece submitted.
Only teens ages 11-18 may submit artwork, however, everyone is welcome to view the gallery on March 17th.
